Digestate Management

BMH establishes best practices for digestate utilization, from injection techniques and targeted distribution to precision planting. With its high fertilization value, digestate promotes production circularity, reduces dependency on chemical fertilizers, innovates farm cropping systems, and enhances soil fertility through conservation agriculture techniques. The benefits are substantial for both livestock operators seeking to maximize the value of animal waste and plant managers aiming to optimize digestate as a valuable resource.

Plant Development

Our project managers oversee plant construction from initial design through site management and commissioning. New agricultural biomethane facilities, supported by NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) incentives, can be developed as consortium hubs for centralized digestate and livestock waste processing.

Agro-Industrial Byproducts

BMH creates partnerships with agro-food businesses to recover processing waste from mills, rice processing facilities, meat producers, and confectionery, dairy, and produce processing plants. Our aim is to enhance supply chain sustainability and promote circular economy principles, following the successful energy supply chain models already established by CGBI (the Confederation of Beet Growers – www.cgbi.it).in partnership with leading Italian food companies like Granarolo and Fruttagel

Livestock Operations

BMH guides farmers toward sustainability by helping them harness the methane potential of livestock waste. Nitrate management represents a significant innovation in production processes—a crucial element for sustainable agriculture that integrates seamlessly into the agro-energy supply chain and aligns with Green Deal objectives.

Plant Biomass

BMH manages the collection, storage, and processing of dedicated energy crops (including maize, sugar beet, sorghum, and triticale) and agricultural byproducts (such as leaves, crowns, and pulp from sugar beet processing), creating additional revenue streams for farms. A core priority is promoting energy crops while providing farmers with comprehensive technical and agronomic support. As an authorized distributor of “energy beet” seeds for biogas production, BMH collaborates with seed companies to conduct field trials and implement new technologies. We also source biomass (including prunings, straw, and stalks) for the ‘Sorgenia Finale Emilia’ plant in Modena, Italy.
